Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has acknowledged receiving a formal complaint concerning Minister for Justice Siromi Turaga.
In response to inquiries, Mr. Rabuka confirmed the receipt of this complaint and indicated that the government will now review it carefully.
The complaint, filed by Australian-based whistleblower Alexandra Forwood, specifically addresses Mr. Turaga’s recent decision to place Commissioner of Corrections Jalesi Nakarawa on extended leave.
This decision, which Mr Turaga claims was made within his constitutional authority, has sparked controversy and prompted scrutiny.
"We are currently assessing the details of the complaint and will take appropriate steps accordingly," stated Prime Minister Rabuka.
The issue remains under consideration as stakeholders await further developments from the government regarding this matter.
