PM Rabuka Attends 76th Republic Day of India Celebration in Suva

Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka attended a special reception last night, marking the 76th Republic Day of India at Suva’s Grand Pacific Hotel.

The event celebrated India’s cultural diversity and achievements.

In her speech, Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Chief of Protocol, Ms. Kiti Temo, highlighted the longstanding relationship between Fiji and India, founded on mutual understanding and respect.

She emphasized the contributions of indentured laborers to Fiji's socioeconomic development and expressed optimism for continued collaboration in areas such as human resource development, climate resilience, health, and education.

The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Biman Prasad, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Lenora Qereqeretabua, Opposition Members of Parliament, members of the diplomatic corps, and other distinguished guests.
