Police Commissioner Urges On-the-Spot Drug Searches
FIJI NEWS

Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has instructed officers to conduct on-the-spot searches for drugs if they suspect illegal activity.
Tudravu emphasized the importance of visible police presence as a deterrent and highlighted the need for proactive measures to remove drugs from the streets.
When asked about alleged drug sales at BBQ stalls near Harbour Centre in Suva, Tudravu assured that the matter would be investigated and encouraged the public to report any information.
He also noted that the Fiji Police Force currently has about 4,000 officers, short of the 7,000 expected if the reform and restructure program had been completed in 2022.
