Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu has urged parents to discuss the consequences of their children's actions before police intervention becomes necessary.

This warning follows an incident where officers dispersed a group of youths intending to cause trouble in the Mead Road housing area.

Commissioner Tudravu emphasized that the law will be enforced strictly, regardless of the offenders' age. He stated, "Parents, talk to your children. Don’t test the law thinking that their young age will soften our approach, because it will not happen under my watch."

He also highlighted the importance of community and religious leaders in guiding youths, noting that Reverend Tevita Vuniwaqa of the Nabua Methodist Church Circuit has offered to meet with local youths.

With eight students currently being questioned, the Commissioner called for proactive community intervention to prevent future incidents.

The Southern Division police continue to gather information and are committed to addressing the root causes of youth violence.

Commissioner Tudravu stressed the need for society to correct youths and children early to avoid more severe consequences later.
