Police have arrested 12 individuals in the past 48 hours for alleged unlawful possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, ACP, Mr Livai Driu, confirmed that three men were apprehended during a raid in Namara, Labasa, where officers seized several plastic bags containing a white substance suspected to be methamphetamine.
In the operation, authorities also confiscated over $1,000 in cash, believed to be proceeds from criminal activities.
In a separate incident in the Western Division, a 26-year-old man from Lautoka was arrested after he was found in possession of two plastic bags containing white crystals, suspected to be methamphetamine, alongside bullets of dried leaves thought to be marijuana.
Additionally, two other men were arrested in Lautoka for possessing sachets of dried leaves, also believed to be marijuana.
This morning, a K9 unit executed a raid in Tavakubu, Lautoka, resulting in the seizure of more white substances suspected to be methamphetamine from a 44-year-old man, who is currently in police custody.
In Nadi, police arrested a 29-year-old man after discovering several plants and seedlings suspected to be marijuana.
Meanwhile, in Rakiraki Town, four men were taken into custody after police found multiple sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana, along with plastic bags containing white crystals suspected to be methamphetamine.
ACP Driu highlighted that divisional operations are intensifying efforts to target suspected drug dealers, reaffirming the police's commitment to disrupting and destabilizing the illicit drug trade across all five divisions.
Authorities are urging Fijians to report any information related to drug activities to Crime Stoppers at 919, emphasizing that every tip can help reduce the supply of illegal drugs in the community.
