FIJI NEWS

Police in Sigatoka are investigating two alleged child luring attempts in the town area.
In the first case reported this week, a man described as “fat” and driving a grey car allegedly tried to lure two children outside a school, claiming their father had sent him. The children were scared and informed another parent, who called their mother.
A second incident was reported two weeks ago outside RB Patel supermarket. A mature woman, wearing a headscarf and speaking Bauan dialect, allegedly tried to lure a girl into a white car, again claiming the girl’s father was waiting.
The Fiji Police Force is working with the Sigatoka Town Council to review CCTV footage. The Cybercrime Unit is also investigating the social media post about these cases.
No formal complaint has been lodged, but police are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 919 or the Western Division Command Centre on 9905 457.
