A police officer is set to appear at the Lautoka Magistrates Court this afternoon on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu has ordered the officer's suspension with half pay pending the court's decision.

The officer allegedly lost control of a police vehicle on Queens Road while intoxicated, causing it to veer into the opposite lane and collide with another vehicle.
