Duavata News has received credible information that a former FijiFirst candidate is currently wanted for questioning by the Fiji Police Force in relation to an alleged assault incident.

According to sources, the individual has not been located since Saturday, and police have been unable to reach her at any of her known addresses. Authorities are now said to be exhausting all avenues to bring her in for questioning.

We are also ascertaining if a stop departure order has also been issued against the former candidate to prevent any attempt to flee the country.

The person in question recently posted a viral video on social media, making false claims about the alleged incident.

Duavata News has chosen not to name the individual at this stage.

In a separate but related incident, Sumit Chand, who was seen in a widely circulated video on Facebook, was charged and produced in court yesterday for one count of alleged criminal intimidation.

He was represented by Mr. Mohammed Saneem of Saneem Lawyers, the law firm of former Supervisor of Elections.
