Police Praised, But Traffic Pain Grows on Rewa Street

Member of Parliament, Hon. Alvick Maharaj, says while it is good that the Police are doing their job on Rewa Street, some understanding should also be shown to the general public who face traffic delays due to a lane closure.
One lane has been blocked off for several days near a house of concern to the Police, causing congestion during peak hours. The footpath and the other lane remain open.
Maharaj said the public supports Police operations but asked why one lane needs to stay closed for days, creating unnecessary hardship for drivers.
“I commend the Police for their work, but I also request some understanding for the many drivers who use this busy road. Perhaps there are other ways to ensure safety without causing long delays,” he said.
Police have not yet confirmed how long the lane closure will remain in place.
