Police Seize Suspected Marijuana in Lautoka, Savusavu and Labasa

Police have made several drug-related arrests and seized suspected marijuana in separate operations across Lautoka, Savusavu and Labasa.

In Lautoka, a 30-year-old man was arrested at Lomolomo Beach yesterday after police allegedly found 177 branches of dried leaves believed to be marijuana wrapped in aluminium foil in his possession.

In Savusavu, police uprooted 1,085 green plants believed to be marijuana from an undisclosed farm in the Waisagavuna area. The plants were reportedly between five centimetres and one metre in height.

Meanwhile, four men were arrested in Labasa after police intercepted their vehicle and allegedly discovered a white sack containing loose dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

The Fiji Police Force said the seizures were part of its ongoing efforts to combat drug-related activities through routine operations.

Police are also appealing to members of the public to support efforts to tackle the illegal drug trade by providing information on suspected drug activities in their communities.
