The Fiji Police Force is urging the public to make early travel arrangements to avoid delays caused by heavy traffic.

Director of Operations, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kasiano Vusonilawe, said yesterday morning saw one of the worst traffic congestions ever recorded.

“Our officers were on the road by 6 a.m., but by then, traffic was already backed up. People were impatient and frustrated as they were rushing to work or dropping their kids at school,” SSP Vusonilawe said.

He described the situation as “madness” and is advising travelers to plan ahead and consider alternative routes to prevent similar frustrations.

“Patience is key, and rest assured, our officers will continue to be on the road managing traffic,” he added.
