Police Warn Vehicle Owners Against Leaving Car Keys in Ignition
FIJI NEWS

Police are urging vehicle owners to avoid leaving their cars unattended with the keys in the ignition. Recently, two vehicles were stolen after suspects found the keys left inside.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO) Livai Driu shared concerns about the increasing number of vehicle thefts linked to this careless practice.
In one case, two children were sitting in the back seat of a car when it was stolen, and in another, the stolen vehicle was used in a robbery.
Once a vehicle is reported stolen, the police set up checkpoints and alert all stations to try and prevent the vehicle from being used in further crimes.
Stolen vehicles can be used for illegal activities, making them a serious threat to public safety.
With the busy back-to-school period approaching, ACPO Driu encourages everyone to stay vigilant and continue looking out for one another.
