President Lalabalavu Inspects Taunovo and Tavakubu Sites
FIJI NEWS

President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu last week visited the Presidential Bure in Taunovo, Deuba, and the property at Tavakubu, Lautoka, in his first official tour since taking office.
The Taunovo Bure, built in 1946, and Tavakubu property, built in 1952, have both suffered significant damage over the years due to natural disasters, termite infestations, and a lack of maintenance.
During his visit, President Lalabalavu inspected the deteriorating sites and discussed plans for restoration.
Once refurbished, the properties will be used to host official events and community engagements, bringing leadership closer to the people and reducing the need for travel to Suva.
The President hopes the renovated venues will allow ceremonies, such as the awarding of national honors, to be held outside the capital, fostering greater community involvement.
