President, H.E. Ratu Wiliame Katonivere addressed the serious challenges that Pacific Island nations face due to climate change and rising sea levels during a dinner for the 65th Asian Productivity Organization Workshop Meeting.

Despite these challenges, the President shared a hopeful vision for a sustainable future for the Pacific Islands.
He emphasized that while island nations are dedicated to fighting these issues, they need help from larger countries.
“Fiji is taking action on climate change. We’ve issued green and blue bonds, tested low-cost products for children, and worked with the private sector on climate resilience,” Ratu Wiliame said.
He called for unity and cooperation among all nations to tackle the climate crisis, aiming for a secure and sustainable future for the Pacific Islands and the world.
