Proposed Fijians First Party Prepares to Enter Political Arena
FIJI NEWSTOP STORIES

The proposed Fijians First Party is on the brink of official registration, with sources indicating the new political movement will be spearheaded by former National Federation Party (NFP) President and veteran politician Tupou Draunidalo, who will serve as the party president.
Duavata News understands that prominent activist and political figure Riddhi Damodar, also a former NFP candidate, is expected to serve as one of the party’s vice presidents, reflecting what insiders describe as a strong emphasis on women’s leadership within the proposed party’s structure.
Sources further reveal that the proposed party has already collected more than 10,000 signatures from supporters nationwide, double the 5,000 required under Fiji’s electoral laws for registration as a political party.
The party is also expected to attract several high-profile political figures, with names such as Faiyaz Koya and Sanjay Kirpal reportedly linked to the movement, although official confirmation is yet to be made.
Early indications suggest the proposed Fijian First Party could emerge as a major force in Fiji’s political landscape and may pose a significant challenge to the current coalition government in future elections.
This movement is viewed as the closest development to a political revival following the dissolution of the former FijiFirst party.
If successfully registered, the entry of the proposed Fijians First Party is expected to significantly reshape Fiji’s political dynamics ahead of the upcoming national elections.
