Qawa Road Upgrade Brings Relief to Students and Residents
FIJI NEWS

Improved road access is bringing much-needed relief to the Qawa community in the Northern Division, with more than 375 students and 30 households set to benefit from recent infrastructure upgrades carried out by the Fiji Roads Authority.
According to the FRA, a total of 350 meters of Qawa School Road and 130 meters of Vunivau Temple Road have been chip-sealed, significantly improving safety and daily travel conditions for residents.
Qawa Primary School Head Teacher, Mr. Rajnesh Swamy, expressed appreciation for the completed works.
“We are thankful for the excellent road upgrade. It has brought great relief to our students, teachers, and nearby settlements who use this road daily,” he said.
He noted that the deteriorated road conditions, especially during rainy weather, had made travel difficult in the past.
“Now, students and other road users have a safer and smoother route. Parents can drop their children right at the school gate, and we’re hopeful that bus services may also resume,” Mr. Swamy added.
