The Rabi Island Council of Leaders has received a new twin cab vehicle to improve its daily operations and community support efforts.
Funded through the China Grant and administered by the Office of the Prime Minister, the $98,000 vehicle will provide better transportation access and assist during natural disasters and key community events.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, who handed over the vehicle, acknowledged the Council’s decade-old truck was obsolete and emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing Rabi’s development concerns.
Council Administrator Jacob Karutake expressed gratitude, stating that the vehicle would enhance efficiency and community support on the island.
