Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has come down hard on online racists targeting Indo-Fijians, calling their actions unacceptable and a threat to national unity.

Speaking at an event in Labasa, Rabuka made it clear that Fiji has no room for those who spread division. "We do not have time for those kinds of people," he said, condemning the racial slurs circulating on social media.

He urged Fijians to reject racism and embrace the country’s multicultural fabric, emphasizing that unity is Fiji’s strength.

While reaffirming the importance of indigenous rights, he also stressed the responsibility of iTaukei to look after all communities living in Fiji.

"We must refrain from anything that harms our harmonious coexistence," Rabuka stated, making it clear that the government will not tolerate racial discrimination in any form.

His remarks follow ongoing discussions about racial identity in Fiji, where he has repeatedly insisted that Indo-Fijians are an integral part of the nation.
