Miss Hibiscus 2024, Ms Melania Tora, alongside 1st Runner Up Martina Sigrah and 2nd Runner Up Pepe Malani, met with the First Miss Hibiscus, Liebling Marlow, at the Pearce Home in Suva.
Situated at the corner of Butt and Gordon Streets, the Pearce Home has served as a sanctuary for Fijians in their twilight years since the early 1960s.
It has also welcomed notable figures like Marlow, who paved the way for generations of Hibiscus queens.
The Hibiscus Committee described the occasion as a significant tribute to Marlow's legacy.
During their visit, Tora, Sigrah, and Malani engaged with the residents, sharing stories and reflecting on the rich history of the Miss Hibiscus Festival.
Residents of the Pearce Home, many of whom contributed to the development of Suva as the capital of Fiji, expressed their delight at interacting with the reigning Hibiscus royalty.
The Committee emphasized that the Pearce Home, founded by Albert Ernest Pearce, is more than just a facility for food and shelter; it is a nurturing environment that fosters spiritual and emotional well-being.
