RFMF Declares Military Zones Off-Limits to Drones
FIJI NEWS

The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) has declared all military installations across the country as strict no-fly zones for drones, warning that counter-drone measures will be enforced against any unauthorised activity.
In a press release issued today, the RFMF said the operation of drones over military areas poses a serious risk to national security, personnel, and infrastructure.
The military has urged the public to refrain from flying drones over restricted zones, noting that such areas are already clearly outlined under the Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji regulations.
The RFMF further warned that it will actively deploy counter-drone measures to detect, deter and neutralise any unauthorised aerial activity.
These measures, it said, form part of broader efforts to safeguard national security and maintain public confidence.
“The unauthorised operation of drones over RFMF installations poses a potential risk to the safety and security of the RFMF,” the statement said.
The military also reminded drone operators to act responsibly and in accordance with the law, stressing that cooperation from the public remains critical.
