The Coalition Government’s commitment to transforming local communities, especially in Maritime Islands, has been demonstrated through recent support for Richmond Methodist High School in Kadavu.
The school, with goal of strengthening its agricultural activities, received eight cattle, a tractor, and other valuable donations to help students improve student learning experience.
Acting Assistant Principle, Taniela Bolatagane, expressed his gratitude to the government for their efforts, noting that the tractor is already being used for ploughing and clearing the creek of sand and gravel more easily.
"The tractor has been a tremendous asset, and we are grateful for the support from the government. It has made tasks much easier and will help us improve our agricultural activities," said Mr. Bolatagane.
The donations have provided the school with opportunity to generate revenue, which will help with the maintaining of school facilities, like the bakery oven.
Mr Bolatagane added that while government support has been beneficial, the school wishes not to keep solely continue depending on requests for assistance.
