Road Upgrades Bring Hope to Labasa Villages
FIJI NEWS

During the commissioning of the new Higher Education Office in Labasa, attention turned to improving road conditions in Votua, Viriqilai, and Nasealevu.
These roads, crucial for accessing Nasealevu’s water source, have been a concern for villagers for years.
The Public Works Department (PWD) has now begun upgrading the roads, improving access for residents.
In addition, the Nakawakawa village access road, upgraded last year under the CARFF programme, has significantly improved, allowing bus services to reach the community.
Villagers expressed their gratitude, and the government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting rural development and enhancing the quality of life in these areas.
