Suva has welcomed its newest Rotary chapter with the launch of the Rotary Club of Suva Central at Novotel Suva on Thursday, 21 August 2025.

The event was attended by nearly 200 guests, including Rotarians, community leaders, business partners, and supporters, who gathered to celebrate the club’s vision of “Service Above Self.”

Rotary Club of Suva Central President, Ms. Ashika Devi, said the launch represented the start of a new journey of service and compassion.

“This launch marks not just the beginning of a new club, but the start of a journey of service, compassion, and impact. We are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve, and we warmly invite the community to join us in this mission,” Ms. Devi said.

The club has been chartered by 28 members from diverse walks of life, with a strong call for more individuals and corporate partners to come on board.

Hon. Lenora Qereqeretabua, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Deputy Speaker of Parliament, addressed the gathering and urged members to pursue excellence in their mission.

“This launch marks the beginning of a journey to create meaningful change in our communities. With combined effort, sincere passion and thorough valour and vigour, the members of Rotary Club of Suva Central are urged to strive for excellence in service,” she said.

Funds raised from ticket sales and raffles at the launch will go toward upcoming projects in health, education, and community development, furthering the club’s goal of creating sustainable, positive change.

The Rotary Club of Suva Central now joins Rotary International’s global network of 1.4 million members working to uplift communities, empower youth, and improve quality of life.
