Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's envoy to the U.N., has dismissed proposals from U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's team as uninteresting and lacking substance regarding ending the war in Ukraine.

Reports from the Wall Street Journal suggested that Trump's team is considering delaying Ukraine's NATO membership by at least 20 years in return for continued Western arms supplies and deploying European peacekeepers to monitor a ceasefire.

Nebenzya criticized these ideas as "unformed, vague signals" and reiterated Russia's opposition to freezing the conflict.

Russian President Vladimir Putin last outlined Moscow’s conditions for ending the conflict on December 19.

These include the full occupation of four Ukrainian regions—Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson—and rejecting Ukraine's NATO membership.

Nebenzya also claimed to have received signals of agreements from Ukraine, though he dismissed them as unserious.

Additionally, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed dissatisfaction with Trump’s reported peace deal proposals on December 29, stating that Moscow rejects any plan that fails to meet its demands.

Despite Trump's claims of achieving peace "within 24 hours," his team has yet to provide an official roadmap for ending the war.

The situation remains complex, with Moscow holding firm on its demands and the incoming U.S. administration facing significant challenges in negotiating a peace deal acceptable to all parties involved.
