The National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for heavy rainfall, now in force for interior parts of Viti Levu, Sigatoka through Navua, extending to Suva up to Korovou, and interior and southern parts of Vanua Levu.

The warning highlights the potential for localized heavy falls, which may lead to flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.

A north to northeast wind flow currently prevails over Fiji, with a trough of low pressure expected to move north, directing a moist northwesterly wind flow over the group from tomorrow.

The forecast indicates fine weather with severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall expected in the afternoon or evening for the affected areas.

The outlook for Friday includes occasional rain and isolated heavy falls across various regions, with localized heavy falls potentially causing flash flooding.
