Springbok star Makazole Mapimpi banned for 'one of vilest acts'

Springbok and Sharks winger Makazole Mapimpi has been suspended for three matches after admitting to eye-gouging Cardiff's Efan Daniel during a United Rugby Championship game.
The incident occurred in the 52nd minute of the Sharks' 42-22 victory.
Judicial officer David Martin ruled the act warranted a red card but reduced the four-match ban by 50% due to Mapimpi's apology.
However, a previous similar offence added an extra match, resulting in a three-match suspension.
