State Institutions in Disarray Amid Leadership Controversies
FIJI NEWS

According to the Fiji Labour Party, Nancy Tikoisuva's reappointment as Acting Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) contradicts the authority delegated by the substantive DPP, Christopher Pryde, to his Assistant DPP, Paulini Madanavosa, during his extended leave.
The Office of the DPP has been dysfunctional for several months.
Similarly, the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) is under scrutiny due to the controversial appointment of its commissioner, which is currently being investigated by a Commission of Inquiry.
The Fiji Labour Party attributes the debacle in both cases to the ineptness of the Judicial Services Commission.
These vital state institutions are mandated to protect the rule of law and investigate corruption.
The Fiji Labour Party also expressed concern over the Prime Minister's extended overseas trip, noting that he has spent two weeks in the United States and is now heading to Europe for another week, accumulating over $63,000 in travel allowances.
