Suva Firefighters Put Skills to the Test in Inter-Watch Competition

Firefighters at the Suva Fire Station have put their skills and operational readiness to the test in an Inter-Watch Drill Competition involving Red Watch, Blue Watch and Green Watch.

The competition was designed to assess each team’s response time, coordination, technical capabilities and preparedness in emergency situations.

Firefighters took part in a series of practical drills, including Turnout, Knots and Line, Open Water, Dividing Breeches and Wormald.

The exercises tested the teams’ ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining teamwork, discipline and accuracy under pressure.

The competition also provided an opportunity for firefighters to demonstrate their operational skills and reinforce the importance of regular practical training.

The National Fire Authority says continuous training and preparedness are essential to maintaining a high standard of operational readiness and ensuring firefighters can respond effectively to emergencies.

The Inter-Watch Drill Competition forms part of efforts to strengthen the capability of firefighting teams and ensure communities can rely on a professional and well-prepared emergency response service.
