The Executive Director of Women’s Fund Fiji, Victoria Yee, and Resource Mobilization Coordinator Ponijese Korovulavula met with Taiwan in Fiji Ambassador to Fiji, Joseph Chow, to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation on women’s empowerment initiatives.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on how Taiwan and Fiji can continue working together to support women’s development, particularly through community-based programmes and agricultural cooperation.
Women’s Fund Fiji has long supported grassroots initiatives that promote gender equality and empower women across communities. The organisation works with local groups and partners to improve opportunities for women and strengthen their role in social and economic development.
At the same time, the Taiwan Technical Mission in Fiji continues to support Fiji through agricultural technical cooperation programmes aimed at improving agricultural productivity and building stronger, more resilient communities.
Discussions also explored opportunities to combine agricultural cooperation with women’s empowerment initiatives, creating new pathways for women to benefit from skills development, sustainable farming, and community projects.
Both sides acknowledged the importance of partnerships in advancing gender equality and supporting inclusive development in Fiji.
