Taiwanese Scholarships Available for Fijian Students
FIJI NEWS

Taiwan in Fiji has announced a new opportunity for Fiji National University (FNU) scholars to apply for the 2026 Taiwan Fellowship, offering fully funded placements for advanced research and academic exchange in Taiwan.
The fellowship is open to professors, researchers, and postgraduate students at the Fiji National University who are interested in conducting studies in the social sciences and humanities. Areas of research include Taiwan’s foreign policy, cross-strait relations, Mainland China, the Asia-Pacific region, disinformation, global supply chains, and Sinology.
Selected candidates will be supported with funding that covers international travel, monthly living stipends, and group accident insurance for the duration of their stay in Taiwan.
Despite its small landmass, Taiwan is a global technology hub with a population of over 23 million, known for its ability to sustain high levels of innovation, education, and economic productivity.
The minimum duration of the fellowship is three months, with the option to study for up to one year at Taiwanese universities, colleges, or research institutions.
Applications close on 30 June 2025, with final submissions due to the Taipei Trade Office before 1 July 2025. Required documents include an online application form, research proposal, resume, and letters of recommendation.
The Taiwan Fellowship program is administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and aims to strengthen international academic ties and foster a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s role in the region.
