Tamavua-i-Wai Bridge Reconstruction Continues, Completion Set for End of 2027

Tamavua-i-Wai Bridge Reconstruction Continues, Completion Set for End of 2027

Construction on the Tamavua-i-Wai Bridge Reconstruction Project is progressing, with works continuing on the bridge structure and approach roads.

The Suva-side abutment has been completed, with curing currently underway as the project team works to complete the remaining piling works for the bridge.

Following the completion of piling, utility relocation works will begin to allow the next stages of construction to proceed.

Work is also continuing on the approach roads, with the overall project currently targeted for completion by the end of 2027.

The project team is working closely with the consultant, contractor, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and relevant utility agencies to coordinate construction activities and ensure the project progresses safely and efficiently.

The ongoing reconstruction is expected to strengthen transport infrastructure and improve connectivity in the Tamavua-i-Wai area once completed.
