Termite Damage Prompts Temporary Classrooms at Saint Thomas Primary

The Ministry of Education has installed two high-performance tents at Saint Thomas Primary School to serve as temporary classrooms following a termite infestation that rendered two existing classrooms unsafe.

The tents, each measuring 72 square metres, were delivered and installed yesterday by the Ministry’s Asset Infrastructure Services (AIS) Unit in response to a request from the school’s management.

According to the Ministry, the affected classrooms are scheduled for demolition and will be replaced by a new 1 x 2 classroom block.

The temporary setup ensures that learning remains uninterrupted during the transition period.

“Works are being carried out in coordination with the school management and relevant stakeholders,” the Ministry said in a statement.
