Thieves Target Preschool, Disrupting Children’s Learning

A preschool in Suva has been left reeling after thieves broke into its premises in the early hours of August 21st, stealing vital food supplies and electronic devices.
Kidsfirst Suva confirmed that the offenders gained entry by smashing a toilet window before forcing open a safe.
In the process, they stole all of the school’s food supplies, ten iPhones, and an iPad.
The culprits even smashed a hole in the wall to reach the back of the safe and used tools to pry it open.
The school says the stolen food was meant to provide daily meals for children, and its loss has caused a major disruption to teaching and learning.
“This break-in has left the school community particularly vulnerable and has caused significant disruption to our operations,” the statement read.
“We are deeply saddened that our school has been targeted in this way.”
Police are investigating the burglary, and the school is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the offenders or recovering the stolen devices.
The school released a list of the stolen iPhones, which include:

The school stressed that the stolen devices are essential for communication and daily operations and urged anyone with information to contact Police or Crime Stoppers immediately.
“Communities deserve better than to be targeted in this way,” the statement said. “Any information in relation to this robbery is vital to investigations.”
