Those Involved in Drugs Beware
FIJI NEWSTOP STORIES

Members of the public are being advised to expect an escalation in joint drug operations as the Fiji Police Force and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces ramp up efforts to combat the illegal drug trade.
The intensified operations form part of ongoing joint efforts agreed to earlier this year between the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Major General Jone Kalouniwai, and Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu, following a high-level meeting held in January.
Authorities say the public should anticipate an increased presence of security personnel across the country, including snap checkpoints, targeted search operations, and surge deployments in key areas.
The move sends a clear warning to those involved in the drug trade and their associates that illegal drug activities will not be tolerated.
Police say the primary focus of the joint operations is to dismantle and disrupt criminal networks linked to drugs, with coordinated teams working alongside dedicated investigators to ensure reports are handled swiftly and in accordance with the law.
The integrated approach will also improve the deployment and responsiveness of law enforcement agencies through better coordination and resource sharing, particularly in addressing challenges influenced by external global pressures.
Public safety remains the top priority, and members of the public with information that may assist ongoing efforts are urged to contact the toll-free Crime Stoppers line on 1681.
