Three police officers were produced at the Navua Magistrates Court on Monday, charged in connection with an alleged assault incident in Navua in February this year.

The trio now join a fourth officer who was earlier charged and produced in court in March over the same incident.

The four officers are alleged to have assaulted a 32-year-old man outside a shopping complex. Each has been charged with one count of assault causing grievous harm.

All four were granted non-cash bail of $1,000 with two sureties and were issued strict bail conditions, including not to interfere with witnesses, not to change their residential address, not to reoffend, and to attend all court proceedings.

Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu has directed that the three officers be interdicted.
