Three Virgin Australia Flight Crew Members Allegedly Raped and Robbed in Nadi Amid Rising Crime Wave
FIJI NEWS

Police have confirmed they are investigating an incident where three Virgin Australia flight crew members were allegedly robbed and raped during a night out in Nadi.
This comes as a further nail in Fiji Tourism's coffin after tourists were earlier hospitalized after allegedly consuming drinks at Warwick Resort.
The crew, now confined to their rooms at Hotel Tanoa, are under police protection as investigations intensify.
Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew confirmed that the incidents occurred early yesterday morning after a night out.
“This case involves theft and allegations of rape against the Australian airline crew after clubbing. Police are committed to ensuring the safety of Fijians and visitors during this festive season,” Chew stated.
Virgin Australia has dispatched a management team to Nadi to conduct its own investigation. Family members of the affected crew are also en route to Fiji.
The case has sent shockwaves through the airline and hospitality sectors, as well as the broader community, with many questioning whether authorities have any control over the unprecedented crime wave currently terrorizing Fiji, from robberies becoming commonplace to violent brawls outside the clubs.
Earlier, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the UK issued official warnings to their tourists visiting Fiji to beware of crime, including sexual harassment and assault.
Police, meanwhile, are urging vigilance, calling on everyone to look out for each other during this festive season.
As the story unfolds, all eyes are on Nadi, where this tragic event has cast a shadow over Fiji’s reputation as a paradise for visitors.
