Fiji is set to host senior admissions leaders from some of the world’s top universities as part of a global initiative to expand access to higher education opportunities.

A two-member delegation from the World Leading Schools Association (WLSA) met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Manoa Kamikamica, and Acting Permanent Secretary for Education, Ratu Meli Nacuva, on Tuesday to discuss the upcoming visit.

The WLSA initiative, which has previously been held in China, South Africa, and Botswana, will come to Oceania for the first time this July.

It will bring admissions representatives from prestigious institutions such as Boston University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Southern California, and New York University.

According to the WLSA, the mission is to engage with Fijian students, educators, and officials on topics including financial aid, global learning pathways, and long-term academic collaboration.

The initiative is expected to open doors for Fijian students seeking entry into world-class universities and foster stronger international education partnerships for the region.
