Tribunal Clears DPP Christopher Pryde, Sets Precedent on Misbehaviour Allegations
FIJI NEWS

A Tribunal appointed under Fiji’s Constitution has unanimously cleared Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Christopher Pryde of allegations of misbehaviour, concluding that the claims were unsubstantiated.
The Tribunal, chaired by Justice Anare Tuilevuka, submitted its report to President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, who endorsed the findings and revoked Mr. Pryde’s suspension.
The report sets an important precedent by defining "misbehaviour" and recommending policies for evaluating complaints against judicial and quasi-judicial officers.
Mr. Pryde’s reinstatement includes repayment of unpaid salary and benefits, marking a significant step in strengthening governance and accountability in Fiji’s judicial system.
