True Fitness Laqere Opens to Encourage Healthier Communities
FIJI NEWSTOP STORIES

True Fitness has officially opened its newest fitness centre in Laqere, reinforcing its commitment to building healthier communities by making high-quality fitness facilities more accessible to Fijians.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Grace Road Group President Daniel Kim said the new facility is more than just a gym—it is an investment in the health, wellbeing and future of the community.
Mr Kim said the location was carefully chosen to serve the growing population between Suva and Nausori, providing residents with greater opportunities to embrace healthier and more active lifestyles.
"This area has become one of the most populated communities in the country, and we wanted to ensure people here have access to a world-class fitness facility close to home," he said.
The new True Fitness Laqere spans approximately 1,000 square metres and represents an investment of more than $2 million. It is equipped with a comprehensive range of modern cardio and strength-training equipment designed to cater for everyone—from beginners looking to improve their health to experienced athletes pursuing high-performance training.
Mr Kim said encouraging people to exercise regularly was one of the most effective ways to improve overall health and quality of life.
"Fitness is not only about building strength. It is about preventing disease, improving mental wellbeing, creating confidence and helping people live longer, healthier lives," he said.
He said True Fitness aims to create an environment where people of all ages and fitness levels feel welcome and supported in achieving their personal health goals.
The opening comes as #Fiji continues to face a growing burden of non-communicable diseases, with regular physical activity recognised as one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and obesity.
By expanding access to modern fitness facilities, True Fitness hopes to encourage more individuals and families to incorporate exercise into their daily routines and build stronger, healthier communities for generations to come.
