Trump Says Foreign Leaders Are Kissing his backside Over Trade Deals
WORLD

President Donald Trump has once again made headlines with a bold statement about his handling of international trade. Speaking at a Republican fundraiser this week, Trump claimed that foreign leaders are scrambling to make trade deals with the U.S. in the wake of his sweeping new tariffs.
“These countries are calling me, kissing my ass,” Trump said during the National Republican Congressional Committee dinner on April 8.
“They are dying to make a deal. ‘Please, please sir, let me make a deal. I’ll do anything.’”
The remarks come just days after Trump imposed a 104% tariff on Chinese imports and announced tariffs on goods from nearly 90 other countries.
He has defended the move as a necessary correction to what he describes as decades of unfair trade practices.
While the comments drew laughter from the Republican audience, they also sparked criticism abroad, with some world leaders reportedly frustrated by the aggressive approach.
