Two men were arrested in Navua after police found dried marijuana leaves and methamphetamine on them.
The arrests took place during a series of snap checks conducted across Fiji this month.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, confirmed that the Southern Division Crime and Intelligence Unit (SD SOCIU), K9 Unit, and the Fiji Detector Dog Unit carried out a raid in Raiwai, near Suva, last Wednesday.
During the raid, officers seized white substances believed to be methamphetamine, stolen items, and foreign and local currencies.
The two men, along with a woman who was found with these items, were arrested, and the items were sent for testing.
Snap checks also took place at a roadblock in Savusavu, where police found a bag with dried marijuana leaves.
In the Western Division, two people were arrested on Monday night in Nadi after officers discovered several branches of dried marijuana in their vehicle.
ACP Driu said the snap checks were proving effective, and more joint raids would continue in all five police divisions.
