Two Lives Lost in Separate Road Accidents

Two people have lost their lives in separate road accidents over the weekend, prompting renewed concern over road safety.
The first incident occurred in Suva at around 2am on Saturday.
A man who was reportedly crossing the road was allegedly hit by a vehicle driven by a man in his 30s.
The victim was rushed to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital, where he was admitted before passing away early this morning.
The suspect was taken into custody following the incident as police investigations continue.
In a separate case, a man was found motionless along the Labasa–Seaqaqa Highway at Qelewaqa early this morning. Authorities believe he was the victim of a hit-and-run accident.
The man was discovered with visible injuries and was taken to Labasa Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical staff.
The search for the driver involved in the incident is ongoing as investigations continue.
