FIJI NEWS

Two men, aged 57 and 25, are set to appear at the Labasa Magistrates Court today, charged by the Fiji Police M-Paisa Task Force in connection with an alleged case of obtaining financial advantage.
The charges stem from an incident in March 2024, where the two accused allegedly collaborated to defraud a victim out of $440.
According to the investigation, they used a Viber account belonging to a relative to send a fraudulent message requesting money.
The victim complied, sending funds on two separate occasions, which were subsequently withdrawn by the accused individuals.
The court proceedings are expected to shed further light on the case as the accused face the charges.
