Unity Fiji Is Lying, Says Abel Camillo
FIJI NEWS

Aspiring politician Abel Camillo has disputed a statement issued by Unity Fiji declaring that he has never been associated with the party, calling the claim untrue and misleading.
In a message shared with media, Camillo said he worked closely with Unity Fiji including party figures prior to the 2022 elections.
He stated that he helped arrange meetings and negotiations with Ba chiefs and facilitated engagement at the party’s Suva office.
Camillo said that during that period he was in regular contact with senior party officials and was told by the party leader that he was working with him.
He also claimed that after a Unity Fiji AGM last year, disagreements emerged between party leadership and some Ba chiefs, who allegedly raised concerns about trust and representation.
He further alleged that public statements made at the time about party merger discussions did not accurately reflect the situation and said he continued trying to support Narube despite the fallout.
Unity Fiji, in a public notice posted this week, stated that Camillo is not a member and is not associated with the party “in any manner or form.”
Camillo has provided chat messages between himself and 2022 Unity Fiji candidate Samuela Tupou which he says show them coordinating political meetings, with Tupou advising him to communicate through him as a conduit to Narube.
