Unity Fiji launches youth wing

Unity Fiji has formally launched its youth wing, with the party’s first youth meeting held in Suva on Thursday.
The newly formed Unity Youth Team is expected to play a central role in building a national youth network across Fiji’s four divisions, as the party seeks to strengthen youth participation in its organisational and policy development processes.
Party leader Savenaca Narube praised the initiative taken by young members, describing it as an encouraging step at a time when many youths are facing significant challenges.
“When young people of this generation are facing many daunting challenges, I am extremely encouraged that this group has decided to be part of building a better future for them and their families,” Mr Narube said.
The Unity Youth Team has outlined plans to expand its membership and actively contribute to shaping party policies, particularly on issues affecting young people.
Mr Narube assured the group that their views would be taken seriously and reflected in the party’s strategies and policy framework. He said youth input would be critical in addressing long-standing challenges such as employment, education, school dropouts, teenage pregnancy, family values, and drug abuse.
He also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to supporting the Unity Youth Team as it develops and grows.
