US Embassy in Suva Issues Visa Warning

The U.S. Embassy in Suva has issued a warning regarding the misuse of tourist visas, specifically addressing cases where individuals seek to travel to the United States primarily to give birth so their child can obtain U.S. citizenship.

The Embassy emphasized that U.S. consular officers are authorized to deny tourist visa applications if they believe the primary purpose of travel is to give birth in the United States.

Such use of a tourist visa is not permitted.
