Former Minister Jone Usamate has spoken out against Barbara Malimali, accusing her of trying to intimidate a key witness in the investigation against her.

Malimali recently fired her manager, Kuliasi Saumi, who is a witness in the Commission of Inquiry (COI) looking into her actions. Saumi has since filed a police complaint against her.

Usamate says this raises serious concerns, as it looks like an attempt to silence or pressure a witness. He also criticized some government ministers who, he claims, are trying to undermine the COI process.

He warned that if this continues, it could damage public trust in the justice system and weaken important institutions in the country.
