In a historic moment for the United States, Usha Vance has become the first Indian-origin Second Lady as her husband, James David Vance, took the Vice Presidential oath on January 20, 2025.

Usha Vance, born Usha Bala Chilukuri, is also the first Asian American and Hindu to hold this esteemed position.

Usha Vance was born to Telugu Indian immigrant parents in San Diego County, California.

She has an impressive academic background, having graduated summa cum laude from Yale University with a bachelor's degree in history and later earning a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School.

Her professional career includes clerking for several federal judges, including Chief Justice John Roberts and Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

Throughout her husband's vice-presidential campaign, Usha Vance was a prominent figure, often accompanying him to events and delivering speeches.
