USP graduate dedicates degree to late mother

USP graduate Lusia Siga Moceyawa Nacewa has dedicated her degree to her late mother, who passed away from cancer in 2022.

Nacewa graduated with a Bachelor of Environmental Science, majoring in Biology, during Day One of the University of the South Pacific’s graduation today.

She said her mother was unable to see her graduate, and she wanted to dedicate her academic journey to her memory.

“I would like to dedicate my degree to my mom who just passed away in 2022 with cancer. She was unable to see me graduate,” Nacewa said.

Nacewa said she also dedicated the achievement to all the struggles she went through in completing her degree.

She said the graduation marks an important milestone in her journey and is a tribute to her late mother.
