Vosarogo Condemns Attack of Taxi Driver
FIJI NEWS

Minister Filimoni Vosarogo has condemned the alleged attack and robbery of a taxi driver after a disturbing video of the incident began circulating on social media.
Vosarogo said the footage was concerning and highlighted the serious dangers posed when a driver is attacked while a vehicle is in motion.
“What we see in that video is not only unacceptable but extremely dangerous. An attack on a driver while a vehicle is moving could easily result in the loss of innocent lives,” Vosarogo said.
He expressed solidarity with taxi drivers across Fiji, acknowledging the important service they provide to communities, often while working long hours and late into the night.
“They are away from their families to earn an honest living and provide for those who depend on them. No one should have to fear being assaulted or robbed simply for going to work,” he said.
Vosarogo also urged Fijians, particularly young people, to think carefully about their choices and channel their abilities and energy towards positive pursuits.
“I urge everyone, particularly our young people, to think carefully about the choices they make and to use their abilities and energy towards something positive, towards building themselves, supporting their families and contributing to their communities,” he said.
Vosarogo expressed confidence that the Fiji Police Force would thoroughly investigate the incident and take appropriate action.
“Those responsible for such acts must understand that violence and robbery have no place in our society,” he said.
He also extended his thoughts to the driver and his family, as well as taxi drivers around Fiji who continue to serve their communities every day.
